I bought this camera from Amazon and it came with a box with half the components missing. I had to send it back and got back my money (less shipping). Then I bought this camera from another online retailer and this time I got a new box. But so what, the camera would not zoom. I requested for a refund and no response. Since I stay in the Bay Area, I just drove to their delivery center and accosted their sales guy face to face. First of all he kept on saying that he does not entertain walk-ins, but when I insisted he said he will take a look at my camera. He realized that the camera had a fault, and said he had a floor model that he can give me in exchange. I did not object and so finally I got a camera that seemed to work.



On getting back home I tried taking shots, and imagine what I found. The camera just cannot retain its focus. When the camera starts it gets into focus, and a few seconds later it starts having trouble. I have tried it under all lighting conditions and all possible settings - the focusing is just messed up.



This camera has given me nothing but frustration. Avoid it. Quality of picture is horrible as it can never stay focused on the subject. It is better to go with a brand name camera that a no-name one like this. The thought behind this camera design is good as it is feature-rich, and the price is attractive too, but it will not satisfy your need as it fails to take good pictures/video.



By the way, the web-site for the camera is [...] and they sell it there too, but you will be taking more risk by buying it from there as they will completely ignore your emails and phone calls if you want to return the item. At Amazon you at least have the A-Z return guarantee. I made the mistake of buying another product from their web-site directly and had the same issue with focussing. Unfortunately, I cannot even return the item as my calls and emails have all gone into a black hole.

I just got this today, charged the battery, took a 1 minute video and played it on my hi def TV. Very easy to hook up and the picture is crystal clear. I am thrilled with this camcorder! I have tried 4 other camcorders in this same price range in the past couple of months and not one of them has come close to the quality of video that this one produces.

I haven't taken the time to try out all of the other features, and I don't know about battery life - I'll have to update later. But for now, I am one happy camper!

This camera is easy to use, takes great pictures and is very easy to carry with you at all times. The battery holds out longer that my Minolta batteries.
